Hi folks

I'm new to the forum and new to owning a tractor. I bought an L225 back in sept and I'm looking to buy some attachments.This is what im looking to get:

1) bushhog
2) box blade
3) bottom plow

The tractor is a compact tractor, 3cyl diesel,24hp.

Here my questions: what size bushhog,4ft, 5ft ? I've notice some 4ft'ers weigh more than some 5's.Im bushhoggin 7 acres of grass (pasture)
Is JBar brand any good for this application?
Same questions apply to the box blade. It will only be used to groom my 750' gravel driveway.
Bottom plow, single or double? That will be used to turn a 50',X100' garden.

My tractor is an L245, similarly sized to yours. I have a 5 foot brush mower. I have a 5 foot box scraper and a 6 foot angle blade. 4 foot anything would be too small in my opinion.

For the width of the mower 4ft will take less HP to run, but is it wide enough to clear the tires? If not go with the 5FT.
J Bar is a GA company, there units don't look too bad, just not a very big name, replacement parts down the line could get tough.

Box blades are good but they are limited, you might want to look into just a standard blade for the rear. Again same thing on width, except with a flat blade you want it to clear the tire width when it's turned.

I'm not a big fan of bottom plows they have very limited use, I steer more towards Rototillers, Spring tooth harrows, and disks.
I wouldn't recommend a 2 bottom plow they pull way too much HP.
Even a single bottom plow can pull that tractor down to nothing, so look at a small one!

You should have plenty of power for a 5' brush hog. For driveway maintenance I'd get a 6' rear blade. And I'd also be looking on Craigslist for a 2nd hand tiller, rather than plows, discs and harrows.

Thanks guys, that's some valuable info. I'm gonna look into a tiller. What size tiller do you recommend?
