I have a L225 tractor I want to sell. For the past 15 years the tractor only had N-R-3-4-7-8 Gears. When I used it to rototill last month, something happened and now I only have R-4-8. No Neutral unless I press the clutch in.

I saw a similar thread: http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23139

Was thinking it would be worth my while to get at least neutral to work, but don't want to dump a lot of money in it. If I take off the top cover to look at the gears, how much can I mess up?

The one comment says "If the end of the shifter is chipped or damaged, a good welder can add material and reshape it to be a better fit in the notches."...is there a diagram that might show me what it should look like?

Thanks,
Dennis

Woot! I found a couple posts on the forum on the subject and some even had pictures. This afternoon I removed the caps, did some basic realigning, and I now how all 10 Gears! How exciting is that!?!?!

THanks to this forum!

Often the forks go out of place when forced such as when your clutch is dragging and you try and change gears.

Operate with care and you will avoid this happening.

Great to hear how the forum helped you have the willingness to dig in.

I had this on the L225 I had, too. Luckily it also resolved easily. Maybe they were susceptible to it?
