You may have two mostly burned out bulbs...

The key is supposed to turn the tractor on, then the headlights on low, then the headlights on high. (I may have the sequence wrong but it is not important). If the high beam filament is out on one bulb it would only work on low beam. If the low beam filament is out on the other bulb it would only work on high beam.

I guess you could move them to the opposite bulb holder and see if the problem follows the bulb.

If yours is like my L185 take the whole light out of the tractor, gently pry the glass away from the rest of the light and remove bulb. It does not come out through the back...

You might also check your wiring. A week ago I took my headlight assy apart and mixed up the wiring on reassembly. result was right headlight worked on high beam only and left headlight worked on low beam only! Corrected the wiring (brown to brown and orange to orange) and both now work as designed.

Just priced a couple bulbs from the local dealer, $6.45/bulb, so price ain't too bad, just ain't worth a 60 mile trip for, by itself.

That's what the internet and UPS/FedEx are for.
Shaun, I thought they were for allowing hackers access to try to commit credit card fraud...

Of late, everytime I use a card on line, I assume info will be stolen and used to buy video game stuff, in Fla!

I will continue my process of sticking the parts I need on the dashboard of the truck, so when I am by the dealer in question, I can pick them up. It's not as if I need anything in that much of a hurry, anyway...:D

Now a days, you have to watch out doing buisiness with someone local as well:mad: wife signed up for a 6 month service, declined the auto renewal. Company went through after she left, used white out on the contract, forged her initials to the auto renewal and then emailed a contract to the main office:confused: we have a copy of the original contract. They printed us off a copy that they had on file when we started disputing the charges. Can make out the white out. Disputed charges with the bank. Got our money back. Thought it was over. Nope, got a call from a collection agency, for double what we got back from the bank:mad: they altered the contract a second time before they sent it to collections. Wife went down with all three contracts, and had the local guy thrown in jail. Still fighting to get his corporate office to drop everything. Probably gonna have to sue them into the next century to get it resolved:mad:

Online? Nah.
I use the good old telephone, and write the name down of sales rep i talk to. Seems to have worked so far. Phone order from china even went well.
I opted to replace housings with rubber mounted tractor lamps. Very happy with results.
