L2050 Engine

I hope someone can help me, I recently acquired an L2050 tractor with a bad motor. The previous owner took the head and pistons out and left engine open to the weather for several months. When I got the tractor of course most of the parts he took off were missing so I am up to trying to find another engine to stick in. This is where my question comes in.

My understanding is the original engine is an D1102-AE. Does anyone know what other engines will fit the transmission? Can I put an larger or smaller engine in this tractor? Just trying to get more possibilities to find something that will fit. Also can someone shed some light on exatly what the -AE stands for at the end of the engine model number? I have found some references to D1102 but not with the AE at the end. Is that something critical that I need to make sure I find an AE?

Will any of the newer model engines fit such as D1105 or do I need to stick with the 02 series engines.

Any help would definatly be appreciated.

I had luck finding parts for my L225DT at a place called Southern Global. Ask for Anna, she is very knowledgeable with both Kubota and their Grewmarket counterparts. Their number is: 866-742-5748. I can't guarantee she'll have what you are looking for but after 8 years of dead ends, she sourced my parts in two hours. Worth a shot

Thanks for the replies guys, I will give her a call after christmas to see what she can do for me.

As far as rebuilding, I have thought of that and not opposed to it if I could get all the parts. All the top end of mine was missing, manifolds, heads, injectors, etc. I have some of the pieces such as the rocker arms but still missing a lot including the injector pump.

I have also been looking tentativly for just these parts as well, do you know if the head is interchangeable to different models?

Also I have found a D1402 that I was told would fit, its a little high on price so not sure I will go that route but now you got me concerned about it fitting when you said I have to find exactly the same model.
