Good Morning. When I engage the pto both my tiller and mower spin, but as soon as they come in contact with soil or grass the pto stops spinning. Earlier in the season I would be using the implements and find that they had stopped spinning while tilling or mowing and I would have to reverse for a second and the implement would work for a while again. Now they won't work under any load. Is this the pto clutch going bad? It looks like splitting the tractor is the next step, right? I am looking for advice from someone who has done this repair. What else should I inspect and replace when the tractor is split. What do i need to know, have to do this job successfully. Thanks for your time.

If it has a 2 stage clutch, then yes bad clutch disk.
First you need the WSM, I'll PM you a download link (look top right) if you don't already have one.
Normally when you split a tractor to do a clutch you do any input seals on the transmission, Pressure plates, disks, throw out bearing, and pilot bearing.
Also good time to replace fluid and filters. ;)
