braided battery ground wire for a L1500, I have found several
on-line but not L1500 specific?

On my l1501, I just went to the auto parts store and picked up a 30" long ground cable, and just changed the mounting point to a bolt that was easier to reach. I did away with the braided cable and just went with a standard automotive ground cable
