I just upgraded from a 1998 model JD 4100 to a 2013 L3800 and can only say i should have made this change long ago. The smile on my face has not worn off yet.
Power is certainly relative so coming from 16 pto HP to 30+ pto hp is such a sweet upgrade. I have a Dirt Dawg 5 ft boxblade on it (580 lb unit) and can hardly tell it is there when not using. The 3 pt stabilizer arms were worth every penny too.

Tillers question. Can anyone comment on Kuhn tillers, looking at EL62-155, I am prepared for sticker shock but quality may be worth it? Also looking at Sicma Phoenix tillers from Everything Attachments.

King Kutter that TSC sells is supposed to be pretty good, especially for the money. If I don't go that route, it will be a Land Pride 20 series.

Some people rave about ETA, but I personally don't think the premiums they charge for things are worth it. Sure they make quite a few videos, but paying 25-35% more than comparable items from other dealers....won't find me doing that.

There are tons of posts regarding various items for tractors all over the forum. Spend a few hours reading and searching, and you will save yourself a lot of money!

I saw a used Kuhn tiller on E-bay for $4300, ouch!!!

I think I'm with Botadriver on this one, the KK tillers are very good from what I know about them. My brother had one and loved it, same with a few others I know. I'm not saying anything bad about Kuhn products, they are top of the line in my book but you can buy 2 or 3 KK tillers for the cost of one Kuhn.

Thanks man....I appreciate the feedback. I will find a KK dealer and look at the Professional series. I have been leary of KK equipment not having good results with a rotary cutter and finishing mower many years back. Quality of construction was very low although they did the job when repaired.

From my personal experience, I haven't cared for everything that KK makes, but I do have a 48" KK II tiller, and it is excellent. I would say that their tillers are worth looking into, even if you didn't have a great experience with some of their other stuff.

I don't have any experience with any other KK implements but their tillers seem to be top quality. My brother had one and a few friends have them and all have been very satisfied. I'm sure it won't be a Kuhn but I think it will be a good tiller for the money.

My KK II tiller has been great. Get the gear drive II series either forward rotating or now they have a reverse one out. Solid units at a reasonable price. I got my 60" on sale for $1100 for the gear drive forward rotating one.

That's a great price. I paid $1400 for mine, and that was the best deal going in my area at the time. I certainly haven't seen them cheaper than what I paid, around here.

I agree. Mine says pat applied for on a decal on it. I bought it 2 years ago and I wondered if they had priced it same as the earlier chain drive series? I didn't ask or quibble about the sale price, and they only had one so I wasted no time, told them to load it up.
