Kubota Third Function for LA535 Knob Issue

I was messing around on my LX2610 yesterday and noticed that the Knob for my Third Function (Kubota version not LP) is cracked in several places.

Looks like one of the screws was overtightened when it was installed.

I have a couple of questions:

How do you get it off the FEL joystick? I tried taking it off yesterday afternoon by taking out the three screws but it felt like something was still holding it together towards the top.

Suggestions for fixing it? JB Weld? Superglue? Gorilla Tape?

Should I replace it and if so - where to get it? I have looked on Messicks parts list and I see what I need but it doesn't look like you can buy just the knob.

Since I'm cheap, I would tape it or see if there is an epoxy that would work to seal it and leave it as is. If it was affecting function or if it came from the dealer new like that, then I would be thinking otherwise.

Also, I believe both JB weld and Gorilla makes epoxy for plastic.

Kubota part is:
7J066-8401-0

May have to special order. Looking at the parts diagram I wouldn’t think it comes off as it’s all one piece and the button wires are likely running inside holding it as well.

Check out a hot plastic staple gun then some black jb weld

When the emergency brake handle grip cracked on my Polaris Ranger i got some heavy duty heat shrink and it has held great. Very rugged. You should be able to shrink it down and then cut the window for the buttons.

I have never seen heavy duty heat shrink like that but will look into it.

Check out a hot plastic staple gun then some black jb weld

I was thinking something a little more than just glue - that may do the trick.

I found it on amazon. Search
eTekGo X-Tube Heat Shrink Wrap

Just need to measure the knob at the widest point. It stretches some. Good luck.
