So, I was cutting about a month ago, and apparently I had a leak at the end of the gas line where it feeds the carb, this resulted in an awesome marshmallow roasting fire, but not what I would want on the front end of the tractor. The flames were all around the hood, and it took me most likely a min or two to get the fire out. The fuel lines didn't melt, but the plastic air shroud that houses the air filter is toast, literally, all melted down over the front. I cut that part off to access the throttle controls, and the engine now runs again, it got hot enough that three of the fins on the radiator opened up, so I did order a new radiator. My question is, I haven't run it long since this happened, I'm pretty sure I need to rebuild the carb since it will run fine, but as soon as I shut it off the carb leaks fuel, and while it's running it smokes like crazy, so, what are my next steps to get this back in order? I wouldn't have thought the external heat would do much to the actual engine, am I wrong on that? The oil still looks fine, no foam in it. Your thoughts?
