I have a kubota t1760 which starts but will not move forwards or backwards. All belts are intact.

Machines with hydrostatic transmissions which your does often have a small lever to disengage the drive to allow you to push the machine. Find out if yours has this and then is it in the drive position.

This is where the hydrostatic bypass rod is on a later model but likely your will be in the same place.

Some models allow the rod to be latched into the no drive position.

On my HST lawn tractor, it's under the seat. But same idea.

Thank you for your efforts. I checked the HST rod. On mine it is beside the rear box in Dave's pic. All ok there. I am 79 but trying to not have to remove the deck & all belts which I have done before & found a spring detached which I reconnected. It worked. That spring is still connected so I am at a loss to know what to do next.

The first rule of troubleshooting is to try the easiest and simplest things first because they don't cost much to try and they are usually the problem anyway. The second rule is to check what you did last that might have mucked things up.

The first rule of getting meaningful help with a mechanical problem on an internet forum is to provide as much clear detail as possible.

So, in that spirit:

1. When did you use it last? Was it working when you parked it after use, or did it suddenly stop working while you were using it? Is it parked on level ground or on a slope? Is the parking brake set? Can you (or an assistant, given you are a 79 year old woman who might not be strong enough) push it forward or back? When you move the HST bypass rod to the other position, can you (or your assistant) push it forward or back?

If there is a drive belt from the engine to a transmission and a second belt to run the mower deck it sounds like the transmission drive belt is not working properly.

If there is a shaft that goes to the transmission then it may have sheared a pin and not be driving the transmission.

Either repair is moderately difficult for a average person to repair at home
