Ya' know when ya' buy a new Kubota, they want to sell you service insurance with a $250 deductible each use. Anyone familiar with this? If you're mechanically inclined, and don't use the unit that much, and are a stickler for maintenance, I don't see the need. Am I right or wrong on this view? Thanks in advance for your thoughts. If you aren't a destructive type, I can't imagine using it. I think reliability is the reason most of us have a Kubota. Also, most of us can deal with a bit of downtime while we figure it out.

Yes, I know some here have had issues, but I think major issues are a very small minority.

Do you have any hills that your tractor can run away and crash into trees? It's more of a gamble, not getting it vs. having it. For some it's a peace of mind... Can you afford to replace it if it's destroyed?

If you don't think you'll drop a tree on it.... or do other questionable things to it. Again, if you can self insure it... go for it.

Thx all. I guess it boils down to how much that contract costs, and who freights the unit. I'll find out when I do the paperwork shuffle. Right now, I'm in agreement that I bought a Kubota for its value and high quality reputation, and with all of that, I should be OK without it. Unless it's so cheap....but I doubt that--a lot. Thanks for the feedback folks.

We're only glad we have insurance when we need it. It seems if we have it, we don't need it. If we don't have it, we wish we did.

Service or liability insurance? I bought Kubota insurance for my 1880 since it’s my 1st tractor and financed through Kubota.

If you are talking about KTAC its way more than "service" insurance.
