I have a new mx5200 that I just had a problem with starting. It was running and when I got off the seat it shut off. I then tried to restart but nothing at all It would light up but not crank. I pushed it into the garage and it warmed up for about half an hour and then it started. The weird thing is that it is only 3 weeks old. The dealer said it was probably a frozen relay or switch but what relay or switch would shut off the ability to start the tractor. Why would it freeze up also.i want to know where it could be located so if it happens again I don't have to get it pushed into a garage to free up. Crazy they would make something that has issues with weather.

How long did this machine sit around in sales yards under varied weather before it sold? It could be corrosion in the switch. jump on and off a few times to see if tht will give better contacts. You could test the switch for resistance.

On my old M4500 it's the high-low range gear selector safety switch that causes that. If left in gear over night in cold weather it'll do that. Has a cab so can't blame it on moisture, I attribute it to thick oil when cold and a spring that is maybe a little weaker than it needs to be. But my tractor is 30 years old.
On a tractor that new it could just be a safety switch a little out of adjustment, maybe just at the edge of its range when warm (ish) but out in the cold it's not quite moving far enough. Common, especially if the switch is, or is mounted in, something plastic.
