I guess I don't see the problem if the dealer HAS the part you NEED. The dealers will still be open.
keeping parts in stock isn't a thing out here. They keep a few oil filters, oil, hydraulic fluid, air filters and fuel filters-and that's about it. When I was in this business, the last 2 1/2 years under new ownership, the new owners kept griping about how much money they spent on interest on inventory alone. It was in the millions of dollars-just in interest across all of their dealerships. In 2021 they sent back, and threw away, a LOT of inventory, reducing it back to blades, fluids, and filters-and not much more, thus reducing each dealers' inventory interest. Bad part is, a commercial or farm customer-who needs their stuff ASAP, can't get it that quickly if the part(s) have to be ordered in. But that chain of dealers is more about the sales dollar more than helping their parts and service customers so it doesn't really surprise me any.
Yes-threw away a lot of parts. Some of it was aged inventory that we (when I worked there) had in the 1990's, which is now NLA. I needed a part for my mom's G1800 and they had it when I left, I called back to get it a year or so later, it was gone-throwed away. I ended up finding it at another dealer (not part of that chain) up the road which was just as well. They offered me a job there too. Love the area, just not sure I want to get back into Kubota stuff, so I had to decline but left it "open" in case I need to do something different.
