My M6800 tractor is shuting off. The oil light comes on at start-up and the engine shut off about 20 sec, later. It is doing this repeatly. Mechinic is out for a few days. It did this 1 time before. The shop could not tell me what they did before. Must not have been very much, due to the fact they did not charge for it. Any suggestions.

I'm not familiar with your tractor but some engs will shut the eng off if there is no oil pressure. My Makita generator does this.

My oil light comes on for a few seconds at start up on my L and M series and this is normal. There is no oil pressure before you crank it so therefore the light should be on until it builds pressure. As long as your light goes out after maybe 1 or 2 seconds I wouldn't think this is your problem. I would look at the fuel cut off solonoid first. It could be your problem. Stand by the right side of the tractor and turn the key to the on position and watch the injector pump. You should hear a click when it turns the fuel on. Crank the tractor up and see if it cuts the fuel off when it dies. If it cuts itself off and the key still on then you just found your problem.
