Hi All, any help is much appreciated. Loving this L4060 we purchased.. When it gets cold it intermittently gives me an error code 20 NG CAN. Intellipanel not communicating with the ECU. When this happens the tractor will turn over but not start. Any known problems? Dealership has no idea.

Thanks again!!

open or closed station? If open, check the fuse box by your left foot. They will get corroded.

sad, oh so sad,
this.. When it gets cold it intermittently gives me an error error code 20 NG CAN. Intellipanel not communicating with the ECU

says, in basic terms one computer isn't talking to the other one. (No Good CANbus)
damn SIMPLE to fix, IF you have BASIC skills .

The dealership should have one of their technicians ,consult the WSM and any other literature they have, then install a CANbus analyzer($50 to make) and then SEE where the problem is. It'll probably be wiring and or connections. The 'computers' should be OK,

check for tight wiring (tyrapped to frame somewhere)
connectors NOT seated properly AND locked
unplug, reinstall wiring at both computers
maybe 'corrosion' on the pins

'cold' shrinks things...pulls stuff apart, so look for wiring under 'stress'

This is an old post but I just read about someone having this exact same problem and a very helpful fix posted by Tony Sovis, a very experienced Kubota tech on a Kubota facebook group.

If you look at the back of the tractor in the left side, mounted near the left rear tire are 2 relays. To get you going, apply heat from a blow dryer or heat gun and the code will go away. The contacts inside the relay are sticking, not allowing them to move when the key is turned and supply power to the ECU, giving you that code. I've also had luck just leaving the key on for a few minutes and it will unstick itself. I've only had this happen on machines that are outside, I believe moisture gets in the relay abs freezes.

Tony Sovis thanks!

I'd bet dollars to donuts that is your issue. I'm not sure if Kubota changed the part numbers, but I would replace those relays when you have time. Sometimes just leaving the key on is enough to create the heat to get the contacts to close, code goes away, tractor will start.

Tony Sovis it worked thanks!
