I'm seeking opinions on the L3800 HD 4WD HST ith 4 IN I FEL and BH77 offered by a dealer and wondering if the BH is strong enough or are there better stronger options that would do a safer better job with the L3800.

Also looking for a Hydraulic Thumb on the Bucket or is mechanical still ok? looking for a video to show the difference in the operation of a mechanical or hydraulic thumb? Thanks

Not much to add to your question, but FWIW I love my 3800. Plenty of PTO HP. FEL handles about anything I throw at it - granted I'm a homeowner Joe and this is my only tractor but I struggle to find the limits. With my Woodmaxx WM-8H, I cannot get any engine rpm drop with chipping; rototiller is wider than my rear tires and tills like a champ, box blade teeth dig well etc. My FEL occasionally cannot pick up a big log with the forks but with the weight that far out front and how much a tree weighs, thats expected.
I don't have the BH but with understanding it isn't a dedicated mini-ex machine, I imagine they are quite capable. I could not imagine choosing mechanical over hydraulic thumb if I had the choice. Those allow so much more freedom. I think this is operator dependent though

Didn’t have any trouble pulling rocks this size out while doing various trenching projects with my BH77 and similar model L3301. I use the mechanical thumb, myself.

I don't think a hydraulic thumb is standard on the BH77 backhoe unless you fabricated it yourself. I asked about it when I bought my tractor/backhoe. I have the mechanical thumb and use it rarely, so the mechanical for me is good enough. The backhoe is a nice implement to own when you need it. I'm sure it is not as capable as a dedicated backhoe/mini-ex, but you can do some useful things with it.

This would certainly suggest the BH77 is matched to the L3800 (as far as Kubota is concerned, anyway):
