Hi, I have a kubota l3410 and have a chance to buy a Bush Hog 285 5 footer. Wondering if the Bush Hog is to big for the 3410? The 3410 has 35 Hp (pto 28hp), the gear box on the 285 is 110 hp max. Weight on the 285 is apx 750 lbs. If anyone has expierience with this set up or something like it let me know what your opinion is. Thx.

I found some data for you at these two sites:

http://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/001/2/5/1250-kubota-l3410.html

http://www.bushhog.com/uploads/documents/RC285-287-SPEC.pdf

According to the first link your 3-pt has a lift of 2,200 lbs, so the weight should be no issue at all.

Your PTO has either 28.5hp if it's a gear PTO or 27hp if it's hydro and according to the second link the 285 needs a minimum of 30hp. Hopefully someone with more experience than myself will chime in, but in my unprofessional opinion (take it with a grain of salt) I think you're close enough, especially if you have the gear PTO.

Thanks, thats kind of what I was wondering, is that the called for horse power wanted or needed is that the engine hp or the pto hp. Was wondering for a clarification on that myself. Thx for input.
