hi . i have just had a track blow out on my track dumper , i am trying to retract the rear idler but no luck, it seams to be siezed , i have wound the adjustment nut all the way in/out it dosent seam to make any difference . i would love to know more about the instal technique for new tracks before the big hammer comes out, should the rear drive extension move in and out ? do i adjust by pumping in grease ? i cant seam to figure this out thanks steve

Does the machine have a grease fitting to pump slack out of the track? If so, remove the grease fitting and try pushing/prying the slide in. A bunch of grease will come out of the cylinder. Often, the slide will be jammed up with impacted dirt requiring your "big hammer". Put the new track on, replace the grease fitting and tighten it to specs.
