All right I know it was my fault but!!

I had pushed several trees over with a rented Mini X, I then needed to get them out of the way, so I hopped on my BX2380 and used it. I wanted to only put the hours on the mini X when needed note it was a rental. The trees ranged in diameter from 12 to 14 inches around and about 20 to 30 feet tall.

I pushed the first tree out of the way with out issue, the next tree was laying against another downed tree. I strapped it and pulled it clear using the rear of the tractor. Next I unstrapped it and started pushing it with the bucket to a clear area to be cut up. As I start pushing it from around the middle it got hung up on another pushed over tree that was not all the way down because it was hanging on the branches. The tree it got hung on rolled and finished coming down right on the hood and seat of my tractor, ( yup me also not hurt just small branches hit me). The hood took the big branch along with the BX shield on the front.

I let this go for awhile be cause it was a lesson to check twice, and I looked at it every time I used the tractor.

Last Thursday I had a service guy from the dealer to do a bit of warranty work on the bucket. He asked about the hood damage, and I told him what happened. He said call the insurance company and start a claim. I did after he left. Friday I get a call from the insurance company and explained what happened. The took the information down and said we will get back to ya. Monday I get a call from the dealer service department saying they will order the parts and let me know when they are in to replace them.

$3500 or so for the hood and seat and a few other minor things. She will be good as new again.

I wonder if they will let me keep the old hood to remind me not to be stupid.

Keep the seat, it is worth more than the hood. Wait till your automobile insurance company finds out that you nearly totaled a tractor, and they jump your rates.
