i have a 2001 newmar dutch star. it has a powerteck 7k generator. 700 hours. it has set for many years. starts right up but goes wide open throttle. it does not shut off by the switch. there is no outside throttle linkage. the fuel cut off soliniod works but still doesent shut down motor. any ideas? TY

It’s still getting fuel and lots of air.
A diesel will even run on it’s own crankcase-oil if it has a bad gasket or seal and gets air.

Isn’t a generator engine set up to run at full speed and only one speed to produce the correct frequency of power.
So when you say “wide open throttle” is it at 1800 ( 4 pole speed) or 3600 RPM (2 pole speed) or something higher? Does the RPM stop climbing or is it going into a runaway condition? How are you stopping the engine?
