hi all, I bought a kubota D1105 that was in a reefer unit. The place where a mech fuel pump has a blanking plate. I bought a pump and looked inside when I removed the blank plate, and the cam gear doesnt seem to have an eccentric next to it, just a round 'feature' that looks like where the pump actuator would ride.

I tried to measure while manually turning the engine, and it stays the same distance from the opening as far as I can tell. I probably dont even need the pump anyway but it makes me wonder, do some Kubota's not have a Fuel Pump eccentric inside?

Still wondering about this. I installed a Facet elect lift pump but would be nice to know if this is common that some Kubota engines dont have whatever eccentric inside the gearcase to drive the mechanical lift pump.

I know other manufacturers have omitted the 'fuel pump cam lobe'. It makes 'cents'. less machining of a part, makes it cheaper, increases the profit margin. Add that to not machining the block and you save time and money. it also allows for the same engine to be used in several machines as the mechanical fuel pump isn't in the way, an electric pump can go almost anywhere.

The lode has very little rise and fall.
But it's possible that you have a cam with the fuel pump lobe omitted.
I have a V2203 that I installed in a bobcat and it has a pump that is mounted and driven off the end of the fuel cam, where the hydraulic pump is located on most units.
