Hi Orangetractor members,

My name is Stiewenson and I’m from Austria. I’m lucky to tell you that I’m a owner of a b1-17 Bulltra since 2 Month. I bought this Kubota with front loader for helping me renovating my 100 years old house....
The tractor was restored by a company in Germany and looks like new...
Today I needed the tractor for some work but when I pressed the clutch with the first gear the whole tractor moved forward and the clutch does not release anymore. The strange thing is that yesterday I had no problems at all...
What can I do. It would be great if you guys have some ideas which helps me to solve this issue..
Thanks a lot
Stiewenson ;-)

Welcome to the OTT forum Stiewenson. You have come to the right place to get answers.

I need to ask a few questions first.

1. Since the tractor is so new to you, did you get it from a dealer and did it come with any warranty?

2. When you say that the clutch does not release anymore, a) Do you mean that the clutch pedal does not come back up; or b) That the pedal comes back up, but pushing it back down again does not release the gears?

Hi Mickeyd, thanks for your warm welcome and your quick answer.
I bought it from a dealer and I talked to him today. He told me the warranty is not valid in a different land. I bought it in Germany and Im from Austria. The dealer is about 600 miles away from me. So to bring it back for repairing it is consuming too much time which I dont have at the moment since Im very busy at work and very busy in the evening renovating my house, since 4 years already.
To your second question, b) is the correct situation, the clutch comes back out as usual but pushing it back down does not release the gears..
By the way the dealer told my the work is not included but he can send my parts for free within one year...

Thanks a lot

While you are on reasonable terms with your dealer, ask him for an electronic copy (pdf) illustrated parts list, operators manual and workshop manual. I doubt you'll have a win but no harm in asking.

...... but when I pressed the clutch with the first gear the whole tractor moved forward and the clutch does not release anymore.
Do you mean when you went to start the tractor it moved forwards when you had the clutch pressed in?

One possibility is that the linkage mechanism has fallen off or come loose and out of adjustment and not fully engaging the mechanism and the spring is returning the pedal. Get down and follow the mechanical arms of the clutch pedal and see what they are hooked up to, ensure everything is in place, and if the mechanism is meant to rotate a shaft into the clutch housing, ensure the shaft is turning when you depress the clutch, meaning the pin connecting the shaft and the linkage is intact. Check the linkage for a loose adjustment rod.

One other thing, there may be an adjustable travel limit on the pedal mechanism (adjustable bolt and lock nut), if it has come loose it's likely stopping the mechanism from going to full travel.

Hi 100td,
thanks for your reply and your help.
Yesterday when I talked to the dealer he told me that will send me a illustrated parts list but not the two other manuals.

It would be really really helpful for me to have also the workshop manual and the operators manual in (pdf).

The situation you described is exactly the right behavior of my B1-17.
First gear in
Clutch pressed
Start the engine
Tractor moved forward - same with all gears

The funny thing on this situation is that before two days I had no issue at all.

I checked linkage mechanism, everything in place, no damages at all, the shaft is turning. Visually I can´t detect that anything is wrong.
All bots and lock nuts are fixed, so I can´t detect any loose bolts or lock nuts.

Thanks a lot :)
