I am hearing lately somewhat loud grinding noise while I am plowing. I have check ok with all the oil levels. I am afraid it may be from the transmission even the oil level is ok.
Any answers or suggestion?
Thank you.

Does it make the noise all the time ? Does it get worse the faster you drive ? Does it change with engine speed ? Does it change with the gear your in ? Any noise if you use the pto ? is it 2 or 4 wheel drive ? Is it a hydro or a manual trans ?

Point being if you give the greatest amount of details you will receive the best advice.

1. Not the same kind of noise while the tractor is on idle.
2. Under loaded, the noise gets worse as I drive faster.
3. Yes, it changes with engine speed.
4. No change as I change L to M or to H.
5. No PTO engaged.
6. 4 wheel drive; but, 2 WD is used for my work.
7. It is a hydro.

Thank you...

I believe it is coming from the input side, because it does not change with the range selection and seems tied to engine rpm.

Does it make the noise if you push in the clutch ? It could be clutch related.
Without moving the tractor, increase the rpm's to to max, does the noise still increase with the rpm's, I am guessing they will.
Drain the trans oil into a clean container and see if it is clean or has metallic particles in it ( looks gray or silver) Either would be bad. You could even run a magnet through the old oil and see if it picks up any thing. Unless the oil is clean, replace it. Replace the trans and hyd filters, then see if there is anything in the old filters.
