I lost the engine oil dipstick of my Kubota B6000 and I cannot seem to find one anymore. Does someone know where I can find one or can someone give me all the measurements to make it myself?

On my newest find - I pulled the dip stick and low and behold - the bottom flat spot was gone and the rubber "stopper" was ......gone too!!!

Having the same tractor and using that dipstick as a guide - I took the shortened stick - placed it on a vise anvil - hammered it to elongate it, continued to do so until I was 1/4" past the so called top mark. Took a file to cut a mark in the end to indicate the upper mark.

Now on the stopper part- I took shrink tubing and built up a tapered place to create a snug fit in the block. A simple small washer could be used on the rear to keep it from going too deep - I had the old piece of rubber ring still left.

twenty minutes of bending and heating the tape....it works like new.

I am thinking you could make the same thing from a metal coat hanger and some electrical tape!!!

or then again you could buy that one from Colemans for 15 US bucks, but jeeez the shipping to SOUTH AFRICA is gonna be .......out of this world!:eek::)

find a metal coat hanger and a hammer.....:)

85Hokie, he can use your method but he needs to know the length from the tip of the "stick" to the top of the opening at the block.

Someone with a B6000 needs to measure and let him know.

Did not notice he was in S Africa before I posted that link. I can measure mine when I get out by the tractors.

Make up a dipstick, leave a little long.
Do an oil change, put in the exact amount oil called for minus a quart,(or 1/2 quart, or whatever you like) and use that level to give you the low mark. Then fill it to the exact amount it calls for, and use that for the high mark.
Did that for an huge, ancient Clinton one lunger, worked great.
