My tractor died on my on the weekend and it turns out (I am pretty sure) to be a problem with the HST neutral pedal switch. I had to move the pedal back and forth for 45 minutes to finally get it to start. Now it has happened again only now i am parked in 6 inches of wet slush. I am just wondering if somebody knows a bit about this switch and if It can be temporarily bypassed from somewhere other than underneath the tractor. I can't seem to make out where the wire is going but it looks to run towards the back of the machine and then up the floorboard. I didn't recall seeing it on the floor of the cab so it must go somewhere else. Anyone know?

Turn the key to run, make sure the brakes are set, then jump the starter solenoid to get it to crank and start.
Then you will be able to move it.

My replacement switch came in but there is no way to get to the switch or the harness from under the tractor. It looks like there is a plate under the seat that may give access. Too bad it is -15C today. I am going to remove the seat and see if that does give easy access. I am just putting this here in case someone else needs to change out this switch.

I don't think you're going to be able to get to it from the top, but I'll be happy for you if I'm wrong.

You can see it when the tunnel cover is removed but there isn't enough space to get a hand or tools in there.

When the seat and seat plate is removed, you can see the plug but there's too many things in the way to reach it.

Your best bet is from below. Rather than moving the pedal then trying to start each time- I wonder if while you're holding the key in the start position, it'll start if you'll slowly move the pedal through its range until you find the sweet spot. I had a truck with a neutral safety switch that was like that. If I held the key in the starting position and wiggled the shifter around, it'd engage the starter when the sweet spot was found.
