I have a dream - no leaks on my 1996 B2400 tractor, serial no. 72874 tractor. I have owned this tractor since 2003. I have over the years had several small leaks which I didn't take care of. All are fairly minor but are starting to bug me. My goal is to have zero leaks.

1. There is a hydraulic leak from right side bolt (3 bolts across) under the mid pto. All 3 bolts appear partially stripped/damages and there may be related seal under each bolt. See pic below. I would like to replace all 3. I have followed many threads before in this forum and usually someone says look at the parts diagram on Messicks. I have tried but am not smart enough to locate these bolts.

2. Directly to the right of the mid pto is a round ~1 1/2" hole and, next to it, what looks like a bolt hole. See Pic. While this does not appear to be leaking -it does look like something might be missing here and in need of replacement. Again I looked through the parts diagrams but could not locate it.

3. The third leak appears to be the drive from the engine to the rear wheels. Again I could not identify it in the parts diagrams. I have read various posts which suggest that it may be related to the steering system - is this correct?

I have gone around the tractor and tighten various loose bolts which has helped. I believe there are additional issues but this is where I want to start.

Thank you for your help.

You need to back up from the tractor and take a picture of where those are on the tractor. I have no idea where to look from the pictures you posted

1: Zoom out, I think your looking at the bottom of the HST, but not 100%
2: Nothing goes in there, it was just an optional casting that goes to nowhere.
3: looks like the boot on the propeller shaft for the $WD needs replaced.

1- I will take better pictures tomorrow.
2- Good news.
3- Is the attached Messicks part (I think you can open this) the "boot" you reference? The front shaft cover also looks a little beat up. Is the boot a likely cause of a leak and is it difficult to replace?

Thank you.

The 3 bolts are plugs on the hydrostat and yes there are orings there. Just remove and replace orings. The hole dont worry about nothing there. As far as the shaft leak yes it could be steering gearbox leaking. There is also a vent on top of the clutch housing. The boots are just dust covers essentially. Shouldn't be any oil in them. If so and not coming from above then could be your front axle
