After mowing today I loaded up tractor to take to another property. When I went to unload the tractor the pedals where working backwards. When I press forward it goes backwards and pump sounds normal. When I press down for reverse it goes forward and the pump squeals loudly, but it does move just slowly. I have checked the linkages but everything looks fine. Anyone have anyone have ideas on what is wrong.

Sounds like your swash plate fell out in the hydrostat. Had another guy with a b2150 do same thing not long ago. Unfortunately hydrostat needs replaced. I do have a good one if you decide to do that.

A locating dowel holds the swashplate in position. Sometimes, the locating dowel starts working around in the case. Occasionally, the pin wallows out the case, allowing the swashplate to turn 180 degrees.

In some HSTs, the locating pin is cast in the case. I had a B7100 a few years ago that, if you shut off the engine and restarted it, the swash plate would spin another 180 degrees, and the tractor would work normally for a while. Soon, it didnt work at all.

So the hydrostat is bad that's not good. Can they be rebuilt? What are you asking for the one you have?
Short answer is yes they can be. Long answer is its a very delicate system and most who try do not have long term success. I know a few who did and so far still working but know of many more who tried and either didn't work at all or failed again shortly after. Thats if you can even find parts anymore. Ill send you a message about this one
