I received in the parts and gonna put the tractor back together. I had one question. right now I have my 1640a loader disconnected for access. The loader is still filled with old hydraulic fluid I believe some UTD mixed with napa universal tractor fluid. My tractors transmisson is completely drained so I want to put fresh fluid in the entire system. how should I drain my loader or is it even worth doing? as im going to be putting way more fresh fluid in trans.
Unless the old fluid was contaminated with water don't worry about the loader.

Thank you everyone for your help, yesterday I was able to reinstall the bearings and orignal gear shaft and orignal pump with replaced seals. I ran the tractor for 20 mins everything sounds good. Now I will use it for a few hours and hopefuly the Hydraulic fluid will not mix into crankcase.. I am hoping to get many more hours out of the hydro pump and shaft with the wear it currently has. I think every time I do an oil change I may removed the drain plug from the hydraulic gearbox adaptor housing as well and replenish with fresh oil, just to keep those bearings well lubricated.

Update, I put about 10 to 15 hours on the tractor. I am starting to notice the engine making oil again. The oil level was about 1 inch over the full line in the crankcase. I think my best bet would be to put some money a side and but a new hydro pump and shaft gear. My question is in the mean time if I just keep checking trans fluid and engine oil and using my oil extractor to not let it over flow, am I going to damage my engine? I mean its obviously a slowish leak in 15 hours it put about 1 inch above full level into crank case so maybe a gallon of kubota UTD fluid. I due notice that the transmission level is a little lower but it always seems different depending on the position of the 3 point or loader when i shut it off. I think before I do anything I am going to take a sample and get an oil analysis to confirm its 100% hydro fluid.

So I should try to use it as little as possible. The Kubota UDT fluid is same viscosity of engine oil but im sure it thins out when it gets up to temp.. I am going to send oil analysis to confirm its not fuel.

Now do you think the hydro pump is just interally out of round maybe and thats causing the pumps shaft seal to go bad? I think if I replace the pump with a OEM new or after market and replace the gear shaft so that the slot and tang are fixed that should fix my issue.

Engine oil contains lots of additives thst are missing in hydraulic oil. Diluting the engine oil reduces its effectiveness as an engine lubricant.

I did not like the looks of the pump from the git go.

I agree with you, I was worried about the pump too. Do you have any thoughts on using a aftermarket pump? Or should I just go OEM? Also is rebuilding the pump possible?

Rebuiding these aluminum gear pumps is not practical. You basically have to replace the gears and housing which are not sold individually. Consider them disposable

Kubota prices are insane. IMO there is nothing wrong with aftermarket pumps. They are low tech and easily made by just about any CNC manufacturing company. The central concern is they are dimensionally the same as OEM and will bolt up to existing plumbing.

The drive elements are going to be Kubota specific.
