My 50+ yr old KUB219 has a leaky lift cylinder. Original manual shows part as simply KU074 … is there a replacement available or will I have to find someone to rebuild cylinder? Please advise … Thanks

Find a Local hydraulic repair place to get the seals, it will be cheaper.

But you can get them here:

Years ago (10+?) I rebuilt all 4 of my B219 cylinders using the factory seal kits.
Worked fine until recently, and the lift cylinders started leaking again.
Having less time and patience these days, I took them to a local hydraulic place that I have used before.
(with a rep for excellent work, but also high prices)
They rebuilt them, changing the o-ring seals on the pistons to actual hydraulic piston lip style seals.
They said I could run these seals at 2 to 3 times the pressure and 2 to 3 times the number of cycles without any problems, so they should out last me at normal pressures and normal number of cycles.

I've rebuilt all four cylinders on that same loader before and while it's not hard, I'll not do it again. A sad part is the tilt cylinders both have some pitting from moisture and need to be replaced. That'll hit the budget some day in the future....

Oh, and for reference, I searched everywhere for replacement cylinders.
No luck at all.
They are a very weird combination of diameter, length of stroke, retracted length, pin hole sizes, connection locations, & cross tube lengths.
No one could find any drop-in cylinders, and doing a bunch of machining to make oddballs fit was as much or more work than just rebuilding them.
Or paying someone else to do it. :)

I never tried to find replacement cylinders for my B670 backhoe when I rebuilt mine, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were just as hard to find.
On the plus side, if any were available, I would think the swing cylinders would be the most likely to be available.
Just a hunch, YMMV.

I had Surplus Center search for cylinders, and another place I can't recall right now, and the place that eventually rebuilt them, and no one had any success.
The closest they came was a smaller diameter cylinder, (less power) that would have needed both cross tubes shortened, both pin holes sleeved, and longer hoses adapted to a different threaded connection in a different location.
Too much work and less power.
