I just purchaced a L3540 with loader and backhoe. (I am planning on going to get it next weekend, and that is why I need to ask the question)

The tractor does not have the radio installed. I have a Jensen Waterproof radio that I am currently not using, and am wondering if it will mount in the cab at the radio area. I assume there are speakers in the speaker mounts, or will I need to get speakers as well.

Thanks in advance!

Congratulations and welcome aboard. I looked up the Jensen and it doesn't appear to be near the same size as the radio slot in my L4240. It MAY be a plug and play as far as the wiring goes. I bought an inexpensive radio from Messicks and the installation was easy. There was a slot for the radio behind a blank panel and the wiring was there to plug in to. The cab had speakers and an antenna from the factory. If the wiring works, the Jensen I saw could easily be surface mounted.

Thank You!

I am pretty sure it wont fit the slot and assume I will have to fabricate something and hope I can surface mount it in that area. (Maybe a backer plate in the slot with radio mounted out front?). Will have to check it out once I get it home.

Am hoping someone in here has done it already and will give advice..

In as much as I have my roof of my M9 for other unrelated reasons, you will need a metal support plate to carry the radio as the headliner is unable to support the weight of the radio chassis and will fail (crack) from it's weight and the embossed into the headliner cutout area is pre-embossed for a DIN chassis radio so if your radio isn't a DIN chassis, it won't fit.

The existing unused Molex plug Kubota pre installs in the roof is unique to a Kubota approved radio so you'll probably have to remove it and splice into the wiring.

The headliners and plugs are common across all midels.

Mine is on the roll bar. I used a scrap piece of polycarbonate (a.k.a. Lexan). Mounting holes are easy with see-thru material. The magnets are Harbor Freight specials rated for 95lbs each. Fabbed up mounts for motorcycle handlebar speakers.

It’s a “single DIN” radio. The plug to fit the existing harness is available on eBay.
I bought a Boss radio on Amazon that AM/FM and has Bluetooth, USB and 1/8” inputs.
It was under $25 and works great. Very light and easy to install, but I did remove the roof to attach a rear support that was likely unnecessary, but I wanted to see if I could fit some 4” infinity speakers that I had. Sadly the existing speakers are very close to AC ducts and the magnets of the infinity speakers wouldn’t fir.
