restructured pork patty compressed to resemble a miniature rack of ribs.
me thinks I like my meat a little more "natural" but no judgment on this end.

I read that they changed the McRib recipe and it now just has meat and spices; no preservatives or unpronounceable ingredients.

Back in the day I used to love them. M and M meats has something similar now ( just the paddy). I can't see them being any worse than a wiener, and they do have more flavor.

Mcdonald's Canada had them for about a month back in Feb.

Never have eaten one.....
Same here. But different folks have their own thoughts on what is worth eating.

Last night a neighbor invited me out for supper. There aren't too many options in our area. Two of them and one was closed. The night's special was brisket. The 'cook' has his own idea of cooking a brisket. Instead of the way I am used to it this had a major crust on it - cooked on a Traeger right outside the front door. It was edible and I actually enjoyed the chew. Decent seasoning and the innards fell apart as it should. When we finished he asked my opinion from 1 to 10. I had my fill and was being generous with a 6 or 7. He agreed. If my DW was with us she would've used that experience to never walk through the door again. She is a tough customer. A master of spices and I am privileged to have absolutely good food on a plastic plate every day.

'BBQ' is amazingly diverse and in the eye of the beholder. Tx, Southern, Hawaiian, ours, it's a crazy world. It's meat. I love all of it, some more than others.

On the bottom end for going out to eat would be a fish taco. But its a fitting end to a Tilapia fish.

The WSJ had an interesting article about this….ummmm….food.

They basically have used the age old marketing scheme to make money… market the hell outa scarcity. Sorry OP, I don’t eat “stuff” that resembles proper real meat…and certainly not on a roll.😜

Bread is there to mop up the remaining sauce/oils which are a sin to waste. The plate has to go back clean or you didn't like the meal.

It has to be good bread. That's a whole different subject.

I do have to admit I've never eaten a McRib either. And never will. But I have a 83 yr old friend who has been waiting patiently for the McRib to return. Honestly.
In 1991 I quit eating beef and haven't had a steak or hamburger since. I eat venison once a week. Other then that it's chicken turkey and fish since. In 1991 I wanted to lose weight and get more healthy. The grease left behind by cooking beef compared to chicken or fish is nothing I miss or wish it put into my arteries. I do eat plenty of junk just not beef.

I avoid fast food at all cost. Rarely ever eat it and rarely eat out. I spent the entire day working in the shop and running back snd forth between the house cooking a dinner. I made a huge baked ham, homemade mashed taters, green beans, cranberry salad, stuffing, and roles. Food is best made at home!

fast food. $12 for a meal deal. Or call it in at a sit-down restaurant, depending on where you go it's better food more nutritious, more food, you (not I) get full, and for less money. Not I because my belly is bottomless apparently and I don't gain a pound. Wife says I got some kind of worm in there eating it up.

I never do either.

But a few months ago I had a long day... Hadn't eaten about all day.... starvin.

I see a 5 Guys burger+Fries place.....

Hmm.... Flame grilled old school bacon cheeseburger with lettuce and Mater's
big ole brown paper bag of fries and a bottle of water.

I got the bill I almost fell down... almost $25.00 !!!

Don't get me wrong, it ate real good. But damn....

If you walked in there with a wife & 3 kids you would go broke.

The wife and I rolled out $55 lighter the other day. We talked about it. Figured we could have gone to Red Robin for less even with 1 beer each!
