I see that it seems this is dedicated to tractors.

Have you branched off . . . or thought of branching off to pick up the orange mowers?

Reason? I got one . . . every now and then need some help / advice on making the little diesel 60 in zero turn do its thing.

Nope-This forum is NOT dedicated to tractors, though most of the posts are of tractors.

If you look harder, you'll see many many posts about Kubota mowers and even some about excavators.

Is it a "normal" thing for the mower gear box to go bad?? There are several videos out there on fixing the darn things . . . mine went belly up for the second time in 4 years.

Plus the 3 cyl diesel just jumped up all of a sudden and is a pain in the neck to get started. Used to be, one full turn . . . it was running . . . now it is lucky to start on number 15.

Any ideas??

On the starting part - you glowing the plugs as usual?

Have you changed the fuel filters at all?

Ive had a zd21 since they came out around 18 years now, and have never had any gearbox issues. I have had algae in the tank and filters which caused poor starting and running issues, but a thourough cleaning of the tank, and two new filters cured that.

Haven't changed anything in the routine . . . but might look at the filter . . . honestly didn't know there was one . . . will have to "dig" in and see what I can find. Thanks . .

If you have had it four years and no filters changed, I'd start there!
