I thought I'd add my carryall project onto this thread so eventually maybe we'll have one thread where numerous "ideas for building..." could be found by a site search. Right now a search yields a hodge-podge of results.
I recently got a grapple bucket. I used to just use my FEL bucket to haul chain saw, fuel/oil cans, tool box, chains, etc when I'd go to cut downed trees and firewood. So now I needed an alternative place to haul stuff.
Perfect timing Titan sent me an email little over a week ago with a 3 point adapter on sale for $99. Turned out to be a great buy as the braces are 7/16" thick. Really beefy for the bucks. Got their signature poor welding, but I can repair anything that breaks on it. Even came with pins.
I have the base completed. I made it out of thick walled 1" x 2" tubing and heavy gauge expanded metal. On my wood racks and trailer beds, I always wrap my expanded metal over and weld it on the sides. Helps reduce the need for cross braces, which helps keep down weight.
I had a 4' piece of 2" x2" thick wall tube to insert into the receiver.
I took a piece of scrap and cut out one side to make my main center brace to sit on to of that 2x2. I cut out one side using the plasma cutter. Ignore the angle piece on left end. It got cut off.
I bolted (vs welding) the pieces together because I am going to want to use that 2 x 2 tube for other attachments, like some 3pt pallet forks.
TBD on what type of side rails to add. I am thinking maybe 12" high along the tractor end of the table then taper down towards the rear. I want to keep it where I can use just a flat, open platform when needed and have the rails be easy to remove.
It already weights probably 60-75lbs so the rails will definitely be removeable just to keep it manageable.
