I need HELP!!!

I NEED HELP!!!! HELP!!
I have a l245 tractor with loader-- the bucket won't lift like it used to and when it does, it goes back down. I checked and cleaned the filter--didn't help. Do I need a new control valve or can I re-build the old one? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ins advance.

You probably need new seals in your loader cylinders. valves give very little trouble. they CAN leak, but that would be the last place I would look.

Replacing the cylinder packing is a piece of cake. Parts availability might be an issue.

There isn't much that can go wrong with a spool valve that is repairableto test it put your loader up shut the tractor off and remove the hydraulic lines going FROM the spool valve to the tractor ( there may be one or two lines) if oil continues to flow from those lines as the loader goes down the valve is leaking. If the loader goes down and the oil doesn't continue to flow then the problem is cylinder packing. The cylinder that is leaking will get warmer than the rest as you use the loader

I checked the pressure coming out of the top of the transmission deadheading the pto. It reads 700 lbs. Manual says it should read 2000. Is there any way to increase pressure without buying a new pump? Thanks again

I would use caution when removing any lines with the bucket up. as soon as you remove a line the bucket will drop in a hurry. and possibly crush you if under the loader.

Of course that is true! if you removed any lines going to the loader cylinders from the spool valve your loader could drop suddenly!!
If you remove lines from the loader valve to the tractor there shouldn't be any pressure or flow there at all no matter whether the loader is up or not! ( certainly will be if the tractor is running though!) Be careful and be sure what lines you are working with!
