I just walked through the kitchen and looked at the feeder on the porch, there were at least 2 hummers, chasing one another around the feeder

Yep.
Pretty soon those little bottles of hand cleaner you leave in your truck will get bloated and hard and you won't be able to squeeze them anymore. 😁

Yep, worked in the yard with the tractor most of the afternoon but found time to take the boat ramp down to the landing. Tomorrow we put the boat in and go fishing...good for the head and at my age better than sex, well at least it last longer. :ROFLMAO:;)

I was thinking a similar thung, as I am sitting out back at my glass feeder, which holds a beer. Nobody chasing me, but the fear of colder weather starting tomorrow made me do it!

I have a bluebird couple raising a family of five in one of the houses in the back yard. Been putting a mixture of sun flower seed and grub worms out for them on the porch railing. If I put some out and come back inside, bye the time I get the door slid shut one of them is on it gobbling it up.
I have to watch though, there is a naughty robin that will come in and run the blue birds off and gobble up the food, so I have to shoo her/him off a couple times a day.

The bluebirds and the Carolina wrens have already raised a brood and are starting on their second. Assuming all goes well, this will be on the first homegrown 'mater sammich of the year.

I am in a battle with a sparrow couple to keep them out of my bluebird house. The bluebird couple keeps inspecting it and then the next thing I know the sparrows are making a nest in it, which I keep removing.

I know it is spring because we have to keep all our windows closed to keep all of the yellow pine pollen out of the house.
Bluebirds have been around since march and hummers showed up last week

Now if I could only keep the turkeys away from the bird feederso_O

you need a shotgun
If I was going to shoot one I would use a 22 and take a head shot...but since I am not I will just continue to shoosh them away, I am not against hunting and was an avid hunter when I was younger but I just don't have it in me to shoot one....ground hogs...that's another whole different story...they are fair game when ever I see one!
And on them I use my 410 shotgun:)

I have had the same problem, but this year the blue birds have been successful. The other bluebird house has a sparrow nesting in it, but I watch it and whenever there are eggs in it I remove the nest. Keeps her busy and not bothering the bluebirds.
