I bought a tilt cylinder from FitRite and it's a work of art! However, in order to save a few bucks (a textbook example of false economy...) I ordered it without the check valve.

I now regret that decision and would like to add the check valve assembly.

Can a check valve assembly be ordered and installed separately? Source?

The short answer is ……No, (not practically anyway)

If you are bored, or just enjoy reading about a true “cluster f___” …….Here you are……….enjoy.

There are multiple ways to accomplish that but one seens obvious. Have you contacted Fitrite about purchasing their parts?

There are DPOH check valves that you can mount remotely from the cylinder (not hard piped to the cylinder) so they can be plugged into the circuit or left out.

But FitRite can probably modify your cylinder or provide you the parts to add it directly to your cylinder.

Pursuant to this and RWS's cluster**** thread, is there any reason such a thing couldn't be mounted with hoses?

Something like this, fer instance.
The only limitation is geometry but make sure you understand how these devices work. Your link is for a single not double pilot valve.

Here is a DPOCV used as a mounting block for the rear outlets on my L3901. Works just like a cylinder mounted one but it is part of the tractor not the cylinder.

Would you please provide the make and model of that DPOH check valve? That would help with the searching for what @PHPaul is looking for.

Oops, missed that it was a single. Wondered why it was so cheap.

The one from Summit seems reasonable. If FitRite can't help me, I'll likely go that way.

Thanks!

If you're going to hard pipe the pilot operated check valve, I'd recommend considering bored through Swagelok fittings. Make up the check valve body and tubing lengths then slip on the bored through fittings on both ends. Slide the bored through fittings out and thread the fittings into the cylinder port fittings then finally tighten down the compression nuts. The downside is that you're not going to be able to take it apart without cutting the ferrules off or cutting the tubing.

Its typically done with banjos and DIN compression fittings. Loosely assemble parts, set in place. and tighten the bolts and compression nuts.
