When my grandson comes over, he always wants to play on the tractor and this weekend was no different.

I have found out that letting him play on it makes me a better Tractor'er, because every time I get on it after he gets done monkeying around on it, something is amiss. So I have gotten quite good at resetting everything.

Yesterday, my loader arms would barely move up. It tilted down fine, tilted up fine, went down fine, but almost nothing for raising loader.

After a brief moment of worrying that something was actually wrong, I found that one of the rear remote levers was in the 1/2 way "on" position. After I pulled it back, the loader worked normally.

Is there some sort of "Bypass" that got activated, hence diverting fluid away from the loader "up valve"?

Second question is; Could this cause any real damage?

It seemed to work fine after that, but I'm just checkin.

Depending on your tractor hydraulics it sounds like your remotes are taking priority from your loader circuit.

Short term you are probably fine, I wouldn't run it that way long term. Lugging is never good.

This is an artifact of the way Kubota designs their loader valves.

The lift circuit on many Kubota loader valves do not send cylinder exhaust oil to tank. They route it to the power beyond port which puts the lift cylinders in series with all downstream devices. With your remotes shifted out of neutral the path to tank is blocked causing the loader valve to deadhead against the pressure relief(s). Not killer bad but not something you want to allow to persist for long periods of time.

A miss-adjusted 3pt feedback can cause the same problem.

Thanks for the info guys.

I'm not sure why I posted this in the "implements and attachments" section though?

Too much 🍺 for breakfast I guess.
