Hydraulic Pump

Does anyone have a ballpark idea what it would cost to have a hydraulic pump overhauled on a B5200 tractor. The tractor is 34 years old and I had to remove the pump to replace a freeze plug behind it and thought while the pump is off it should be overhauled, especially since I plan to put a front loader back on the tractor.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it is leaking or the hydraulics are slow or weak. It doesn't appear that any parts for that pump are available beyond seals and o-rings.

It wasn't leaking around the pump. Years ago the front loader quit working but the problem was with the cylinders and the control valve. I really have no way of knowing if I was loosing pressure at the pump too.

It won’t cost much for the parts. If you have someone at a hydraulic repair shop do it it may get around the $100 mark total (I am guessing)

I believe it's a gear type pump. These work for a LONG time. If it's working and not leaking I wouldn't mess with it. Resealing is one thing. Parts may not be available for a full rebuild.

The only parts are seals or complete pump assembly.
