When you buy a new hydraulic implement, say a grapple, is there fluid in the lines and pistons already? If not, how is that supposed to work with getting fluid in there and the air out? Also, if there is fluid in there already, won't it be bad to mix it with the kubota fluid?

No fluid in new implement.
You will need to add hydraulic fluid after hooking it up.
Air will work its way out when you first use it.

hmm.... there could be some, in one line, if they have quickcouplers.
depends if the MFR 'purges' the implement's cylinders to recycle the oil after testing.
they might do it anyway to minimize any 'shipping of hazardous materials' nonsense.
