Want to change hydro fluid in my 2005 M5700 with FEL. Kubota UDT runs about $80, for 5 gal. Book shows it to require 13 gallons. I know not to use the 303 hydro fluid I use in my old International 966, but have seen fluid at TSC, which states it to be compatible/replacement for UDT, for a lot less. Know you are paying a lot for the name on the UDT, so was wanting to know if anyone has used the TSC Kubota compatible, fluid, and how it has performed and if any issues have come up from using it? Bought Kubota filters, but now know my local NAPA parts store stocks them as well for less $. Thanks in advance for any and all advice. Tony

If the fluid is UDT compatible then it should be fine, I use Mystik JT-5 with excellent results. ;)

I've used the TSC fluid (Premium). The HST tractors ran with a lot more noise and whine. My M7040 transmission was jerky. The L48's hydraulics ran hot and caused what seemed to be cavatation during work.

I changed out all three tractors within 50 hours of use. A total waste of money.

Using New Holland Ambra or Case Hy-Tran is better, but not the best. The BX runs far better on Kubota fluid.

The L48 now uses Amsoil 10w-30 synthetic. Now that is expensive since it needs 15 gallons.

As far as filters, there is not enough difference in price to be significant. Napa/Wix is a good brand(s), however.

It has never made sense to me to be cheap on the consumables unless you run a fleet and they all operate 40+ hours/week.

I changed the fluid in my F2560 and my RTV500, and replaced it with a generic fluid. I didn't notice an enormous difference in the RTV, but the F2560 was far noisier and it seemed the forward aft pedal was sticky. I probably did not put 30 hours on the F before I dropped it and put in the UDT synthetic. Total world of difference. I am normally not anywhere near a believer in using brand name stuff, but in this case the UDT2 lowered the whine, and the pedal definitely worked smoother.
