I asked (in another post) about replacing the Husco controller with another suitable controller. A Chief Controller was recommended. I have the new controller and I'm trying to figure out how to plumb it correctly. I'm posting a couple of diagrams with the connection labeled. The red caps on the Chief is where the fittings goes.
Given the fact that I'm dumber than dirt when it comes to this project, I'm hoping someone can instruct me in elementary terms :) --- For example: -- The hose on connector "A" of the Husco goes to the connector "A" on the Chief.
I included a pic of the Chief controller. They're 2 Red caps on each side, with a corresponding "plug" on the front side. I assume the plug can be swapped out with the corresponding red cap for plumbing purposes. Also, where does the Power Beyond Plug go?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Terry

Lets use the actual labels on the valve.
  1. There are two ports marked P. They are both pressure in from the tractor. You can use either one - just be sure to put a steel plug in the one you do not use.
  2. Remove the steel plug in the N port and install the power beyond sleeve. This is power beyond return to your tractor.
  3. There ars two ports marked T. They are tank return to the tractor and you can use one or both. Make sure you put a steel plug in any unused one.
  4. The four middle top ports go to the loader cylinders. The lert two are boom and the right two are bucket.

If you can post the valve model number for both valves or better yet identify the ports on each valve with a better description than a,b,c,d.

There will be a port into the valve to supply power into the valve. May be labeled as P

There will be a port or two where the Power Beyond sleeve is installed. Those may be T ports.

There will be a port for tank return. That may also be a T ports.

then there will be hoses to the cylinders. They are a matched set of two ports and are normally arranged in a pair vertically. I think those are the four ports that are shown in your photo.

The plastic plugs can NOT stay in the valve during use, they are just protective sleeves for shipping purposes. Don’t remove them until you are ready to connect a fitting (that has a plug or cover) into the hole. You want to be a clean as possible when doing this work to protect you valve and pump.

edit: @TheOldHokie types faster!

Other suggestions are to be sure you label the hose ends as you remove them one by one or you will have a mess to figure out. Tie the sets of two cylinder hoses together and label each with some indication of where it attaches to the cylinder (extends piston or retracts piston).

You may need adapter fittings with sealing washers into the valve since the threads. If you are getting new hoses I suggest getting all hose ends with a Female JIC connection since it won’t twist the hose as you tighten the fitting and they don’t leak if properly tightened.

If anything is using NPT thread, use pipe dope carefully instead of tape.

Good Luck!

There are no NPT ports on that valve. Everything is SAE oring boss - DO NOT USE SEALANT.

Remind me again - why are you replacing this valve?
