Unloaded this steel plate I got from work. It was going to the scrap dumpster. I took 1 look & said, “No way, those are shooting bench tops”. 1” thick & about 375lbs. so some over kill, but will work great. I’ll make a base & seat with fork pockets, to support the tops. Another project, but a fun 1.

Yup. This is not what I would have ordered. However, the shape & top dimensions are perfect. Price was perfect too, $0. I’ll put fork pockets on them. I won’t have to worry about them getting stolen.

It was too dark, but I spotted something large leaving the corral this evening, much bigger than one of the full size farm cats. Gonna drop another camera tomorrow in the area. I'm really hoping it's one these rare/extint cats.

The paw in front of the face of the animal in the first pic made me do a double take. I thought it was a canine at first, but after a better look, a cat for sure.

No other cats in the area?

Closer up view.

Be careful with camera placement. Some animals don’t like “change”.

I love a good mystery!

There are other ferals, but they are the same size as mine. And ferals are so mixed, rarely all one color.

This certainly isn’t as rare / interesting as an almost extinct variety of puma…but I watched a feral cat (just left of brush pile in pic) in a stalk and then a standoff with some squatters in the backyard until it finally took refuge in the brush…kinda funny watching the deer gawking and stomping at the cat…I have not idea what the cat was thinking to try to stalk the deer. I think the bourbon even tasted better watching😉. 🥃

Got a double today. The cold temps & need for calories makes the dogs take chances. It didn’t work out for them.

Guarding my gut piles, so I can create more gut piles, damn vicious cycle. I'm kinda self conscious, are you looking at my nuts? Weirdo.

No yotes last night, a small front blew in and changed wind direction.
But the sky chickens found the gut piles this morning.

We’ve been seeing some activity in the Red-tailed Hawk nest tree just outside our back door.

Skeets -owls are in their breeding season probably too. Somebody’s looking for love…

Very muddy on my property yesterday, I thought best to leave the tractor & travel by boot. I’m glad I brought a rifle with me. The armadillo was out enjoying the sunshine. It cost him.

This buck (upper right) has a different color phase. It really is noticeable when he is with another buck.
