HTA00-37800 side bushing “boss” repair

Has anyone attempted to repair the “ears” on the housing itself that goes into upper and lower bushings?
I rebuilt the cylinder and re-bushing the steering cylinder and other component's but still have some slack.

I noticed most of it was from wear on the ears themselves.
I was thinking of trying to turn them down and build bushing to ride on it. Or maybe try building it up by brazing it, then turn it down.

Brazing it wouldn't hold up, too soft.
You could mig, tig or arc weld it and turn it down.
Disassemble the cylinder completely before doing that.

I recently had the trunnions on my backhoe swing cylinders welded up and turned down. The shop used a CNC mill, but a conventional mill or a lathe with a big swing would do.

What you suggested would work, but if you're going to be machining why not take them back to original size?
