Hey folks, I have a 2006 L48. The drive control pedal doesn't return to neutral. All linkage components appear intact. My first dig will be into cleaning and lubricating all the linkage. Any other thoughts?
Cheers!

When working right, the HST's regulator helps keep the pedal in position with minimal operator effort. With your foot off the pedal, a spring-loaded 2-way external damper lightly pushes the linkage returning it to neutral.

Does yours fail to return from just one direction of travel ? or both ? Are there any extra hissing noises when it sticks?

First thing to do: Get the WSM it will explain how to properly troubleshoot and adjust neutral on the HST unit. ;)

When my HST was acting up I got the WSM hoping it would light the way. But while it was some help, it lines up with Kub's policy of replacing the whole HST unit if it doesn't perform properly. The manual describes HST operation, but the coverage is only skin-deep.

Attached are L48 WSM pages showing linkage and adjustment. If your 2006 L48 has cruise control there are more parts on the other side of the trans (not covered in this WSM)

I'd start by assuming it's something simple and checking spring 9 that assists the neutral holder, and checking the damper 6 for smooth operation and equal centering force in both directions.
Good luck, Dick B
