HST Filter over pressurized

This is my first tractor, I know it's small but it gets the job done.
BX 23s, 2021 with 375 hours.
I went to move it out of the garage and the controls started feeling wonky. I looked back to see all the hydro fluid leaking in my driveway. The HST Filter "popped" and all the fluid leaked out of it. Not thinking, I replaced the fluid and filter and started it. I raised the bucked and mower deck with no issues. As soon as I engaged the transmission, the filter popped again, fluid everywhere again. I called my local Kubota dealer and of course they want me to trailer it in. Any thoughts would be helpful. That damaged filter - was it on the tractor like that ? OR was that damaged when taking it off?

If this happened twice - I would suspect the bypass valve is not working correctly.

If it only occurs when propelling the tractor it is most likely something caught in the charge check valve seat area shown by the red arrows below. They can be removed via the plugs shown below. Usually all that is needed is to pull them out and reinstall, but I would inspect them to make sure nothing is broken.

It was found like that on the tractor. If I look at the IPC is 'bypass valve' the correct name I am looking for? Not sure if there was a pressure valve of some sort. Thanks for your help.

If your filter has a bypass it is internal in the filter and only protects the media from collapse. Also if that were the issue it would occur anytime not just when propelling the tractor.

The fact that this only occurs during propulsion shows the issue is more than likely due to the check valves. The filter probably has a burst pressure rating of 300+psi so PTO or charge pressure would not affect the filter.
