Congratulations! That is an awesome machine. Good call on the cast wheels👍.

It’s none of my business, but I wonder when you say before tax, does that mean there is a sales tax on ag equipment where you are at? (My assumption is that an M is most certainly considered ag use, no?). If you are mowing the front yard that’s even better but I assume that is going to be used for some sort of ag use?

Finally, wheres the pics?

My business thankfully is sales tax exempt since it is a for profit farm, if you buy ag equipment in NY you need to meet certain requirements to get tax exempt. The good thing is basically everything related to the farm is sales tax exempt which really helps since its 8%

and unfortunately I got to the dealer after work so it was already dark so it slipped my mind to get a pic :(
Ill def make sure to add some soon!

I remember your thread from almost a month ago. I think you made a great choice and the price you got is very good given the cast wheels and 3rd function. I think you got way more tractor than the other models you were considering, and very well suited to your 50 acre sheep farm. I don't see you outgrowing that tractor any time soon. Looking forward to photos. (y)

Talking of sales tax, we don't have any here in Montana of course, but I bought the M6060 in Sheridan, WY but they waived the 6% tax since I picked it up and trailered it 600 miles home. I was staying down there for a week anyway so I combined visiting a friend with picking up the tractor.

That’s a great choice, a very capable machine and not a bad price. One recommendation: get 3 remotes installed and added to the purchase price. Don’t be like me and add them a few years later at double the cost. You will eventually want them. I also paid no tax when I bought my MX. I bought it in adjacent Colorado and they have a goofy law that they can’t charge sales tax on Ag equipment to an out of state buyer.

sigh, it must be NICE to NOT pay taxes....
It USED to be if I bought out of Ontario or out of Canada, I didn't pay either but now shafted with 13% on everything bought anywhere in the world.
Always wondered how states with no sales tax pay for 'stuff' ?

In my case, they charge state residents, but not out of state buyers. Doesn’t make sense but it saved me money.

Anything over I think it’s 60 or 70pto hp is no tax in Ontario.

Nice choice on model and enjoy that new tractor. Looking forward to seeing some pics.

They dropped my interest so I went with 84 months at 2.39 APR now that’s what I call free money. Even though NY has high taxes they do try to incentivize farmers (and for a good reason). Now to look for cheap brush hogs and augers!
Appreciate the forum, your Help has been awesome

Nice! Looking forward to hearing your impressions of your 5660. I have the slightly bigger sibling (V3307 engine) in the form of the M6060 and it's such a great tractor for my needs.

That’s an awesome machine.

I am not sure your dealer mentioned or not, I see you mentioned looking for brush hog…today I got email from Kubota about ‘end of year savings on tractor implements’. Maybe check it out. They have some nice discounts…up to 600 on select implements which includes some cutters.

Good luck and congratulations on your machine. 🥃

Keep an eye out on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace and other local for sale sites or papers. You can sometimes find some really good used implements for less than new, especially if you can pay cash.
