I have a 10 gallon electrical sprayer for my 4 wheeler for spraying Rosehedge. I'm buying this ranger pro herbicide and my son picks up the bottle and just pours a bunch in. I know there has to be a better way than that.
When I go through the application booklet, I personally can not find anything useful. I'm sure a lot of the problem is that I'm just so dense. I'm sure that there was a day when some of this actually made sense. Can anyone please help me with this. I know it needs to be so many ozes per gallon or some such.
I've been told that regular dish soap makes a good surfactant, can anyone help me with this.

Josef,

Try this:

Based on this - I would add 1 quart per your 10 gallons and then spray!;):)

It's just the typical 41% glyphosate Round-Up knock off. Mix at 3.5%, or 4.5 ounces per gallon. Dish soap will reduce the surface tension of the droplets allowing it to spread better when it contacts the plant. If you purchase a commercial surfactant or spreader/sticker it will do the same thing but also changes the ionic charge of the liquid so it wants to stay in place. It's pretty affordable and a 2.5g jug will go a LONG ways. Your Ranger-pro has some surfactant in it already, probably fine for this time of year. Later on, when things get drier and the plants harden-off, it would be a good idea to add it to your tank mix.

As always, you good people come through for me. There was a day when I could actually do this for myself. Thanks very much.
What are your viewpoints on dye???

Dye can be handy, especially if you are doing a lot of odd shaped pieces. It will make things look odd for a short while and it will make one heck of a mess if the bottle gets spilled on anything. :D

I have 5 Gallons of Ranger Pro which should make 200 batches of 10 Gallons of solution each. When I did the math on the dye I came up with 1 oz per gallon of solution and that I would need 200 oz of dye or 1.56 gallon. The dye I used was 73 cents per oz. multiply 200 by 73 cents and I arrive with $146.00 Does someone have a more economical dye??? The dye is more expensive than the Ranger Pro.

Does someone have a favorite spreader sticker???

I am not sure how visible you need to make the spray, but that sounds awfully concentrated. When I carry around a 2 gal sprayer to spot spray thistles etc I have dumped food coloring in, just enough so that I can see where I've been. Had some leftover from Easter or something.

If you have a dye, experiment with a batch to see minimum that will work.

As far as dye......

Go to your local wallyworld and get some fabric dye - use for tie dying t shirts, comes in packs of single colors, like five bucks a pack:

A little goooooes a long way!!!! AND if you get it on your hands, tough to get off!!! I would imagine that you could see 1/3 of black in 5 gallons, or perhaps a brighter color might work.
