In Burton Texas is an old Cotton Gin which runs on a 100-HP Bessemer “hot rod” engine turning a score of belt-drives via a huge fly-wheel.. It’s “muffler” is a pair of 14” pipes buried underground and pipes the exhaust 50 yds away where it exits up a pair of 25’ tall culvert-pipes. It took about 20 mins to heat up the visible “ignition-rods“. They have an old-engine “fair” in the Spring and there are dozens of old engines which are demonstrated on exhibit.
