How long does it take for a BX23S to warm up and the thermostat open? I am beginning to think that my tractor is about as cold blooded as my ex girlfriend.

It takes quite a bit to get the temp needle to move on mine. Probably about as accurate as the fuel gauge!

how long ? depends on how cold it is the the World ! Took about 10 minutes this morning, hovering aroung 0*C =+- 32*F, 2000-2500 RPMs... went and started to turn the compost pile....
in the next week or two I have 2-3 tandem dumptruck loads of topsoil to dispose of , about 60 cu yds I suppose...so 15 dump trailer hauls to get rid of it.. seems the mother of the new owner of my old property wants me to get rid of it......and here I thought black pretty top soil was a good thing to have? !

if you need a place to dump it, let me know.... haha I’m already planning on ordering a tri-axle worth once the 1/2 load restrictions are off..

as for the temp, ya what jay said, I’ve used my BX in -30 let it run for 10 min, then drive real slow to warm up the hydraulics for about 5 min. Then put it to work moving snow..

on a side note, when I was working on the cat 416, it has a sticker that says to warm up the hydraulics by using the backhoe stick and just holding it for x amount of time (next time I’m over there I will read it again)
