My best bud hooked up the battery backwards on his L4310 and he said now the warning lights and all will not come on and nothing works. I can see frying diodes but what else could have fried that would keep everything from working? Thanks for any help you can give.

Another member on here did something similar. It ended up popping the slow blow fuse that was attached to his positive battery cable.

Checking to see if there's power on the big post on your starter will tell you if the issue is between the starter and battery, or if it's somewhere down the line.

I accidently did that on our M4500 last year and blew a fuse. I replaced the fuse and all was well. Of course this is a less sophisticated machine than an L4310.

Blown main fuse is the most likely candidate.

Go to kubotabooks.com and download the 2 part WSM to help with location of fuses.

There's a 60-amp fuse 52200-41170 located above the starter that's intended to blow when a battery is connected backward. Costs about $12. It protects the instrument panel etc. On older models it was a fusible link - just plugs into the wiring.

When that fuse blows, no lights, no start, pretty lifeless. But probably nothing else is fried. Take care, Dick B.
